Orecchiette Pasta with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage
Incredibly delicious and simple meal for dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 pack orecchiette pasta (16-oz pack)
- 2 bunches broccoli rabe trimmed and chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil extra-virgin
- 6 links hot Italian sausage (4-oz)
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp onion salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper ground
- 1 can black olives 4-oz, sliced
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Once the water is boiling, stir in the orecchiette and return to a boil.
- Cook the pasta uncovered for about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta has cooked through but is still firm to the bite. Drain well.
- Bring another large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Stir in the broccoli rabe and cook uncovered for about 6 minutes or until tender. Drain afterwards.
- Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sausage and cook for 5 minutes or until firm; turning frequently.
- Cut the sausage into half-inch pieces and sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, onion salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Cook for 5 minutes, or until the sausage is no longer pink in the center.
- Once done, stir the sausage mixture into the pasta along with the sliced black olives to serve.
